Keeping Up with Content Creation

Are you a small business owner, struggling to keep up with creating the content you need to market your business? If so, you’re not alone. In today’s marketing landscape, content is king. It’s vital to create engaging content that builds trust in your brand and creates interest in your products or services. It’s a lot of work, and for many small businesses, it’s overwhelming.

So how do you keep up with creating it and sharing it with your audience? Here are a few tips.

Plan it out

Coming up with engaging content on the fly is 10x harder than planning it out first. Trust me. Set some time aside to plan out your content a month in advance. Sit down with a calendar and map out what the month will look like. Don’t worry about creating the content at first, that will come later.

Think about the content you’d like to post and break it into categories, such as holidays, weekly tips, blog posts, inspirational quotes, client work, etc. Once you have the categories of content, you can start putting them on the calendar.

Then you start writing the content for each category. Once that’s developed, you create the graphics to go along with each piece.

Use Scheduling Tools

When it comes to social media, scheduling tools are your best friend! They allow you to compose all your posts at one time and schedule them to go out at a later date. You can save boatloads of time and keep your sanity. It’s a win-win.

There are a lot of scheduling tools out there, and it’s important to find the one that works best for your style and the platforms you use. The tools vary in price, and some have pretty robust free versions that will get you going. Some of the more prominent ones are Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, and Tailwind, but there are plenty more.

Most blog platforms allow you to write and schedule those in advance too. Use that in the same way.

Batch Create Graphics

This is where brand photography can come in extremely handy! One branding session with a professional photographer (like Karen K Photo) can generate months of image content. Using your ready-made photography in graphics creation tools like Canva or Adobe Spark can make creating graphics a breeze. No more searching for images!

You can also create templates for categories you use on a regular basis to make things even faster.
